1/6 Hot Toys MMS409 Batman (Rebreather .Ver)

I mentioned on an earlier post that I also bought a new Batman recently. None other than the BATFLECK!

This is the 'Rebreather version' i.e. the one Hot Toys released under the Suicide Squad branding, having previously released Batfleck as part of their Batman vs Superman series.

This figure is a joy to pose and photograph. I had a blast taking the pictures. Enjoy :)

Love or hate the film Batman vs Superman, the one thing they definitely got right was the look of Batman. He has a more Dark Knight Returns vibe to him, what with the stockier suit and cowl. I love the colours too.

The figure comes with interchangeable face plates - which is a common practice that Hot Toys have adopted for masked characters. He also comes with interchangeable eyes - in the past Hot Toys used  a patented movable eye system calls P.E.R.S but I guess they've decided to all but ditch this for most figures. You have to pop the head off to get the eyes out but it's not too much of a hassle.

The suit is made from a silicon/rubber material and is pretty flexible.  Once upon a time this figure would have had zero articulation but Hot Toys have come on massively in the world of rubber suits. The only worry is decay over time. Fingers crossed he won't suffer too badly.

Overall the figure is excellent. Easily a 5 out of 5 figure for me. I originally intended on getting the Batman vs Superman version but time and money got in the way. When this figure was announced I committed to getting it no matter what. No regrets there!

The stock cape that he comes with is made from a pretty good material but I have to agree with various reviews I've seen, it's not the best. It's wired so the cape tends to be a bit stiff and difficult to work with. With a little bit of patience and fiddling you can still get some decent results though.

He comes with a grenade type launcher that fits in his hands well enough. His gauntlets get in the way a little though so it's difficult to get him in certain poses.

Although he's masked, you really do get a sense of Ben Affleck under the cowl.

He comes with his grapple gun. I really like the design and it fits well into his hand. Overall I'm very happy with the range of little extras that he comes with, which include a few bat-a-rangs, various attachments for the grapple gun and some grenades for his launcher. As always he comes with a number of changeable hands.

His rebreather is easy to fit. It's a very specific look but I guess they had to justify re-releasing the figure somehow ha.

He also comes with a Bat branding iron.

You can get his arms up a little higher than the above picture but it's not recommended. I think it even warns against it in his instructions.

Batman's scaling is a little off. Here's him stood next to Hot Toys Joker. I mean, yeah he's supposed to be bigger than Joker, but not by that much haha.

He makes the Dark Knight Batman figure look like a shrimp!

The Hot Toys Superman measures up OK though, I couldn't resist doing a Batman vs Superman Pic.

To highlight further the scale issue, here he is stood next to Hot Toys Predator. Isn't the predator supposed to be over 7 foot?

Bat lineup!

Bonus pictures of the Batman Armoury set from the Dark Knight (which can be bought separately). It's a thing of beauty.
