Hot Toys Iron Man Mk 3 Battle Damaged Review Pt1

Man I've been waiting for this for what seems like forever! I pre-Ordered it last year ha. I'm pleased to finally say it arrived the other. Hot Toys Iron Man Mark 3 (battle damaged)

I guess you could say this is a special edition of the version they already released. The battle damaged version comes with way more features than the original that they produced and is well worth the spend. Lets take a look at him!

The packaging is pretty standard for Hot Toys, all very collector friendly and involves a plastic tray housed inside a cardboard slip case. Very sturdy and feels like high quality materials were used through out.

He stands about the usual approx 12" and poses amazingly.
He just looks great from every angle.

Of course just as with the other Iron Man models that Hot Toys have produced, this one has the full light up feature (namely eyes, palms and chest) It looks great in the dark and is a fantastic feature. There is pretty much zero light bleeding through the plastic when he's powered up. Incidentally his lighting is done via high power LED's that run off those mini watch type batteries.

Keep scrolling down for a demonstration of the helmet opening.

Took the below pic the other night, man it looks like its straight from the film haha.

Iron man with his included stand. (btw stay tuned for a review of the figures stood in the background. Extra points to those that can name the figures)

Although he does have a stand as pictured, he doesn't need it in order to stand. The construction and joints are all very well done and he stands sturdy like a rock.

The Mark 3 battle damaged comes with 2 interchangeable heads, one head has the light up feature and is a pristine paint op, the other (below) is the battle damaged head which has the opening face plate.

The bottom section of the jaw piece drops down, its really simple and is held in place with magnets.

The face plate lifts up to reveal the Robert Downey Jr sculpt underneath. Its a great effect that works really well, again the face plate is just held in place with tiny magnets. This means no grooves or catches. As for the face sculpt.... well I'd give it a 3 out of 5 really. I'm yet to see a Downey Jr sculpt that I'm happy with ha.

As mentioned earlier the face plate is held in place with magnets and just simply pops off. Simple but really effective.

Stay tuned for part 2 when I'll take a closer look at all the cool features and hidden gadgets that he comes with.
