Hot Toys Iron Man Mk 3 Battle Damaged Review Pt2

Here's the link to Part one in case you missed it.

So below is a picture of all the spare hands and spare head that he comes with. He also comes with a interchangeable chest piece which is all dented and scuffed. This is from the final scene from Iron Man 1 when his suit is all bust up. Personally I don't care for the look, I much more prefer the normal chest piece.

Hidden in each of his shoulders are little missile launchers as seen in the film. The large plate slides back and the spring loaded launchers lift up on their own accord.

It's a pretty cool addition but be warned they are fairly delicate. I totally dislodged one of them when I first messing about with him. Ha damn sausage fingers.

Both arms have have features too (in addition to lighting up)

A little rocket pod lifts up

Then the entire arm opens up. In the movie he uses this a shield from small fire arms and things.
It just slides open and slides back with very little hassle.

His left Forearm opens up to reveal another rocket launcher.

Again simple without any catches or anything. It works really well but again I'd take care to not be too rough when opening these components. They really are small and delicate.

One of my favorite features is the pods that open up on his hips. There's one on each side and they are both spring loaded. In the film they fired off chaff (heat seeking missile counter measure)

With a simple press they rotate and then lift up using a coiled spring, even the tiny little spikes lift out as the disk rotates. It's really really cool and works fantastically.

His back also opens up to reveal his flight panels. These parts are each articulated and also have metal fins attached. Without reading into it I'm assuming they would be used to control the suit temperature as well as act as flaps like an aeroplane.

It's also worth noting that you can see the power switches in the below picture. It highlights how tiny they are and how they don't distract from the overall sculpt. The Eye switch is at the base of his head, the chest switch can be seen on the right hand side (it sits under the flight panel when its returned to its down position)

Both his legs also open up to reveal the tiny gears and servos that are underneath. Its excellent fine sculpting, the quality that I've come to expect from Hot Toys.

Finally here's the Hot Toys Iron Man posed up with the Diamond Select toy that I recently reviewed. Ha he looks so crappy compared to his bigger brother.

I'm looking forward to getting my hands on the War Machine that's coming out soon. Stay tuned for a review once It arrives :)
