Hot Toys T-800 Terminator 2 (ARNIE!!!)

Been messing about with my camera some more and come up with a slightly different look to my pictures. It's a very stark studio look. Anyway here's some pictures of my T-800.

SCULPTING *****
Hot Toys have done a fantastic job here, it's easily the best Arnie sculpt yet. There really is no mistaking who it is. If I had to be really critical I would say the eyes were ever so slightly off, he certainly looks much better with the sunglasses on.The hair has been done really well too. Something worth mentioning in this category is the body sculpt -the shape and form of the body matches Arnie's body (at the time) perfectly.

The box of roses is very well done, you can even put the shotgun inside just like in the film.

PAINT *****
Again the paint's spot on, Hot Toys have started to add more texture than ever to the skin, adding blemishes and freckles. Even the arms and chest etc get the same great paint job. Very high quality. There's literally no slop or bleeding in the paint job.

ARTICULATION ***
Hmm good and bad I'm afraid to say. Overall he has good articulation and has all the joints you would expect, ball neck, ball shoulders etc. The part that lets down the figure is the elbow joints. Man they really suck. Hot Toys released pictures of this figure with the shotgun slung over Arnie's shoulder, however it's basically impossible to get that pose out of the figure without popping the arm completely out of its joint at the elbow. The body shares the same characteristic with the Wolverine body and the Comedian body, in that the elbow cannot give more than a 90 degree angle. This is due to his sculpted muscles basically stopping the arm from lifting any higher. It's a small bug bear though in light of how good the figure is.

The attention to detail on the costume is fantastic.

OUTFIT *****
One thing Hot Toys do really well at the minute is fake leather. The quality of the jacket and trousers is superb, it feels and looks spot on for this scale and really sets the figure apart from other T-800 models and figures. As you'd expect the outfit does limit the articulation a little bit, but seeing as you're not going to be posing him doing the splits, it's really not a problem. He also comes with an alternative tshirt (a black Tshirt) I guess this was to silence all the complaints about how "he didn't have the grey tshirt on when he had the box of roses" ha gotta love fans nitpicking on the forums!

ACCESSORIES ****
He has a pretty decent amount to be honest, though maybe they held back a bit so that they can release a battle damaged DX version me thinks. In total he has:
1x Pistol
1x Lever action shotgun
2x pairs of interchangable hands.
1x pair of sunglasses and an interchangable battle damaged arm (picture below)
and of course the usual Hot Toys stand.

I tried and tried to detach his arm so I could fit the battle damaged arm but I
just couldn't get the thing off bah! In the end I decided to leave it in case I
broke the joint. Pretty annoying really but hey ho.

OVERALL *****
In short, if your a fan of Terminator 2 and/or an Arnold Schwarzenegger fan then this is a must. I'd recommend snapping it up quickly though if you're interested because the price is sneaking up, even with a second run being produced (prices are starting to reach £150 - £180 mark). Really looking forward to the
T-1000 that they are producing next wooo!
